Our brand is rooted in the belief that fashion should be both beautiful and responsible. Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, we specialize in creating garments that are not only aesthetically refined but also sustainably made. Using eco-friendly materials like tencel, linen, and silk, we produce each piece in small quantities to maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship and individuality. Our collections are designed for those who appreciate thoughtful design, ethical production, and the subtle art of self-expression through clothing.
Brand history
Mikhail Kaneko
Located in Tbilisi, Georgia, the brand currently includes only five people, including two founders: Mikhail Kaneko – a Japanese/Russian trans man, and his partner Elisabeth Kaneko.
Kaneko was founded in 2017 when the owners started making accessories and headwear fully on self-funding. Slowly gaining recognition and customer respect they moved towards clothing making in 2020. After the start of the war with Ukraine in February 2022, and participation in the anti-war protests Mikhail and Elisabeth moved from Russia to Georgia, where they set up a new workshop.
